
Lhoknga, 12 April 2025 — The Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), held a halal bi halal gathering to strengthen collegial ties following Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. The event took place on Saturday, 12 April 2025, at Pondok Harmoni, Lhoknga, Aceh Besar, and carried the spirit of unity and fraternity among the academic community.
The event was officially opened by the Head of the Biology Department, Prof. Dr. Lenni Fitri, S.Si., M.P., who underscored the importance of maintaining harmonious communication and strong interpersonal relations within the department. She emphasized that Eid al-Fitr serves as a strategic moment for mutual forgiveness, emotional reconnection, and strengthened collaboration to support the department’s advancement.
“This halal bi halal is not merely a post-Eid tradition, but also a medium to reinforce brotherhood and enhance collective work spirit within the Department of Biology. May this togetherness be preserved and bring a positive impact on the development of our institution,” remarked Prof. Lenni.
The gathering was attended by the extended community of the Department of Biology, including faculty members, administrative staff, active students, and alumni. Their presence added meaning to the event and strengthened intergenerational bonds within the academic environment.
The program began with a brief religious reflection on the value of silaturahmi in Islam, followed by a social session, shared meals, and informal discussions held in a warm and familial atmosphere. Traditional Acehnese dishes enriched the conviviality among participants.
The event also served as a reunion space for alumni and lecturers, bringing a distinct dynamic to the occasion. Several alumni delivered messages and motivation to active students, creating inspiring engagement and expanding perspectives.
The event concluded with group photographs and a closing prayer as an expression of gratitude and hope for the smooth and blessed continuation of departmental activities.
Through this initiative, the Department of Biology FMIPA USK hopes that the spirit of unity and kinship fostered during the event will continue to grow and become a strong foundation for building an inclusive, productive, and harmonious academic environment.
